Went to church last night. I have seen the light and the light is good.
Good meeting you guys too, had a blast. Beehive was incredible, can't wait to see them again next year. Hot Snakes was unreal. Better than last week for sure.
Thanks El Douglador, RJ, Savage, Choppa, Tallman, Tallman 2.0, Panther In Crime, Jimmy! and DJ Laptop for contributing to my experience.
Good times indeed. |

Would have liked to have met up with you guys, but I didn't want to jinx the recording...plus I went down with my wife--"date night", so that was the thing.
I will let you guys know when the DVD's are done. All went well with recording. Here was my take on it:
I got my US Mint fix last night at Casbah and the crowd thinned during the encore--surprisingly--so I walked right up with my camera, almost awkwardly close (for my taste with a camera), but I crossed universes and saw planets born==>without acid...only the Reis/Froberg working++Gar administering the IV-Drip of bass-drugs and then primal pounding of the "Shamen" (Jason)...they perfectly shattered time and space...head started bobbing, camera bobbing, probably lost focus and didn't care...I wasn't really holding it anymore--it was just there attatched to my lifeless arm!
Still, the Troubadour was a bit more "unhinged"--both band and crowd, so even with the Mint not played in LA, Trouby was the best by my measure. I will share up the DVD's of all when mixed down...I have separate digital audios to matrix to two cams...a steady shot and my zooming version that was hand held, plus all youtubes I deem decent, which is most of them. It may be a couple of weeks but then you can watch Trouby, Casbah 1, Casbah 2 and see for yourself.
Of course somebody just posted the complete or near complete Alex's and I have a tentative setup for a trade on the entire Blank Club video. I was excited about the prospect of having a Vid or Audio of a quarter of the shows, but counting Portland audio, we will have "complete show documents" of 6 out of 8 shows if they starve us out for 5 years again. I am so grateful for all other tapers out there...it's a pain, but this is one band that has been bootlegged since the first show and never disappoint. I am in heaven! -Tashi. |

| Ooops I should have said...complete documents of 6 of 9 shows, since Phoenix wasn't taped (I don't think) and Casbah #2 wasn't on the list of the original 8. Still, damned good--Bookend shows, the Trouby stagedive, and 2 US MINTS! I haven't even heard Portland, San Jose, or Long Beach yet. -T. |

Hey Tashi,
Thanks for your dedication. Was your camera on a handheld mount? If so I saw you at the beginning but you didn't last the crowd. If that wasn't you then there is another document of the show. I will be hitting you up for some of the shows.
Casbah 2 was awesome. The crowd was a 180 from Casbah 1, lots more energy and activity. The band was feeding off it too. I had so much fun. Good to hang out and share this night with lots of the SW@MI's devotees.
My wife and I met because of the Hot Snakes and it was so amazing to be able to see them again. Thanks for getting back together. You were missed. Keep it going.
Let it come, let it come. |

Holy balls what a great show. My ears are still ringing & I have sores on my knees from being squished up against the stage. I was right in front of the SW@MI, trying to keep from getting crushed over on top of Sheena, who was tucked up against the monitor. I definitely had the most fun at this one out of the 4 SoCal dates (both Casbahs, Trouby, & Alex's), despite being sick & probably suffering some hearing loss. I took lots of pics at all 4 shows; nothing fancy, just me & my powershot, but the least sucky ones will go up on wikimedia commons in the coming week.
Thanks so much for these shows, Snakes! |

Holy God was that a good show!
It was great meeting/re-meeting all of you friends of the Sw@ami! I wish Amy and I could've stayed later after the show but our old and sleepy bones were still on Omaha time.
Anyway, the Hot Snakes set was amazing. I was super pumped to see Beehive. I was surprised they didn't play much off of Pure Commotion but I was very pleased to hear Preteen Sexfiend.
I will sit here in Omaha that pray that the Hot Snakes do a tour on the way to the Metallica festival and play Omaha, otherwise I'll just have to take another road trip.
I do wish I would have met Tashi at the show. In her honor I took three videos. The lighting wasn't the great and from my angle and the poor iPhone lens you can only really see John and Gar. But thats what you get!

| man what a show! I'm not sure what else I can add other than it was great to see everyone. Between the Alex's show and this one I think i've seen the 'Snakes play all but 3 or 4 songs. The 'Cudas blew my mind. I've seen'm a few times, but they'd never played Real Blue Flame. So i was overly stoked on that. Hopefully we'll all get to do this again before too long. |

Cool that all these YOUTUBES are being posted!! Plan on those getting blended into my DVD...so your blood, sweat, bruises and stuff got the footage that I could really totally capture well from the back...nothing like video from the stage front!! I plan to use them all!!
I stayed back due to having so many buttons to start, levels to check and not being able to be in all those places at once (and stake out a spot up front) and still get back to start the audio and second video on time. So, I taped from the back with 2 cams and digital audio recorder...one cam "tape-mounted" up looking high down on the crowd and stage (that cam also captures all the subsonic bass pumping from Gars 10x bass expansion pedal (or what is the "Mickala" soundman...roadie guy who tweaked it on the soundboard?...great effect I don't remember from previous tours Anyhow, you know what I mean...those deap bass waves that punched through at key point in the songs.) The other cam was handheld on a mono pod, zooming, panning, over everyone's head. Then a separate digital audio recording with a stereo Sony ECM series mic taped overhead on the back wall. I have already blended the two audios--matched to the microsecond and the result approaches amateur soundboard quality with all frequencies represented and sort of taking turns in the mix like solos in a good jazz piece. I did that for BOTH Casbah shows. I paid $120 bux for my Casbah ticket on stubhub, so besides my passion for documenting the genious and miracle that this band is, I needed to make it count if you know what I mean! So, nope, that wasn't me down front...until the encores when it thinned out enough to get in there. So odd that people leave at the encore...?...Just need a piss break and drink and break from the intensity up front I guess. I LOVE those front shot vids!! I had no idea how rowdy it was up there from the back!! It's gonna make a killer DVD. I will make them available in 1080p MPEGs too that will play in Bluray players. Remember...BUY SW@MI products!! Every time I visit the merchant lackey I buy like 3 or 4 shirts and a CD, so I keep trying to give back. Of course everything is trade/share only...no cash unless it goes to SW@MI and the band. Friggin' awesome week!! PS...Alex's is up on Youtube--complete show! Also, Blank Club is up...5 parts, very well shot single cam with good audio! -Tashi. |

This is great news!
And I gotta say, that mega bass effect at all the right times during the Hot Snakes (and a few during Beehive) was awesome. It really added to the songs at the right times. |

| And I have to say, that huge bass sounds impact at all the right periods during the Hot Snakes (and a few during Beehive) was amazing. It really included to the music at the right periods. |

| OOoops...if anyone cares, the COMPLETE Blank club show is up in youtubes--------->SIX PARTS, not 5. The guy used a separate audio recorder and mic like I did at Casbah and Troubadore and his recording sounds great too. While my Casbah's are pretty intense with subsonic Bass, his Blank Club is a very balanced audience recording, similar to the Troubadour, but a bit thinner sounding due to microphone and PA System used I think. VERY good though. I will make that into a DVD too, but it's probably easiest to just grab his youtubes. -Tashi. |
