SW@MI just announced dates on Instagram, both coasts, Oct/November - says there is a presale today but I can't find the info anywhere. Anyone have it?

I haven't been here in a long time, so I may have missed something. The promo stuff I'm seeing for the new tour has both Ruby and Jason -- are we getting double drums?

A new classic Sonic game and a new Hot Snakes album? Life is sweet, all I need is Scarlett Johansson to place her round, bare asshole on my lips for my life to be complete. Also fuck the fact that it's been almost 14 years since the last Hot Snakes album. I'm now officially old..

single drums, double drummer (i.e. they switch out for the songs from their respective LPs)

Super-yay! This is just terrific news. Tempted to fly to the states, but finger-crossing for something more local. 14 years? Zoinks!

1) They fucking blew the doors off the place!

2) Probably the best I've ever seen them.

3) They played 4-5(ish?) new songs, all of which were amazing (seriously, not fucking joking, all if them were good.)

4) Thru all looked like they were having a blast (not that they ever look pissed) but all of 'em were in top form: smiles, crowd interaction, Jason & Mario were both tight as shit, Gar was/is always cool & John is always John but he had keyed in on the vibe something fierce! Even Monsieur R. Froberg was all high-fives, handshakes & pulled one silly half crowdsurf (that the singular for crowdsurfing?) at the end!

5) Holy shiiiiiit, I cannot wait for the new record!

6) If anybody has decent live recordings of thewe most recent shows, please, if you're so inclined, share the pants off them!

I think "I Need a Doctor" was the one (of the newbies) I liked the most. If I am remembering it correctly it was a torrid, anthemic, minute-and-a-half-ish Sonics-meets-Killed By Death heavy-hitter in the same vein as "U.S. Mint," "Stay in School" or if "Retrofit" was more straight-ahead.

The Seattle crowd didn't start moving--as a whole--until about halfway through the show though. Me included :-X

I was blown away by Hurry Up, the band from Portland that played ahead of Hot Snakes.

Also I was jawing a bit with the Obits bassist at the bar pre-show, and he sounded hopeful that we'd see an Obits reunion in the future. I miss that band - and I REALLY could use a Night Marchers show.
